Crimson Skies

Tom's review: These might be airplanes, but this ain't no flight sim. It's I-76 with wings. A fiesty, spirited presentation almost makes up for the flat gameplay. If you're in it for the flash, get Crimson Skies. But if you're in it for the game, try a sleeper called Flying Heroes.

Mark's review: Imagine an alternative 1930's United States now divided into nation-states. The highway system was never built and all commerce is conducted by airplanes and great airships. Imagine that you're an air pirate, preying on the ships of your enemy. You're capable of feats of great derring-do in your amazingly cool airplane, gunning down entire fleets of enemies. Now imagine you have engine trouble and your plane can't fly. It doesn't take much imagination to know that sort of sucks. Crimson Skies is a great game savaged by some nasty bugs. It's being patched so keep your eye on it. And Tom's right. Flying Heroes is great.
