Take the cold weather fingerless glove challenge in Sniper Elite 4

, | News

Rebellion’s glorious X-ray headshot simulator, Sniper Elite 4, will get its first chunk of DLC on March 21st. Deathstorm Part 1: Inception is the first of three “mini-campaign” DLC installments coming for the game. Set in Northern Italy, the expansion mission will task players with infiltrating a secret Nazi naval base to secure a mysterious MacGuffin codenamed Deathstorm. The mission is playable as a strictly single player affair, or snipers can team up for cooperative shenanigans. Additionally, the Night Fighter DLC pack will release on the same day, adding night-time camouflage skins, two new characters, and three new weapons. Both DLC bits will be available separately, or as part of the season pass at “around” the same time.

There’s free content coming as well! A new Night Woods multiplayer map, and an elimination mode are being released at no charge to owners of the base game.

The Left 4 Dead heroes have more zeds to kill in Nazi Germany

Zombie Army Trilogy, the re-mastered and bundled package of Rebellion’s Sniper Elite zombie games, is getting an update today that adds the protagonists from Valve’s Left 4 Dead series. The free update puts Francis, Bill, Zoey, Louis, Coach, Nick, Rochelle and Ellis into 1945 zombie Germany. How did they get there? There’s a comic that explains it all, but who really cares? It’s zombie shooting!

Zombie Army Trilogy is on sale on Steam.

Sniper Elite 3 keys targeted and eliminated

, | News

Sniper Elite 3 released last week and many players are enjoying the long-distance shooting and improved level design of this third installment of the franchise. Grizzled stealth guy versus the Afrika Korps! Unfortunately, that’s not true for at least 7,050 people that are victims of a serial key theft. According to Rebellion, that many Sniper Elite 3 Steam serial keys were stolen from an unnamed retailer. Those stolen keys were then sold to multiple online distributors, which were then purchased by consumers. Rebellion notified Valve of the theft and the keys have been revoked from Steam.

As a developer Rebellion are happy for you to purchase the game anywhere you see fit and support price competition in the PC market – we have in no way targeted any specific vendors (who may have also thought these keys were legitimate), just this one set of keys.

All we can suggest if you have been affected is to please contact your vendor and first ask for a replacement key.

As a partial solution, Rebellion is giving players that had their game revoked free keys for the Target Hitler DLC that was part of the pre-order offer.

Yet more Nazi zombies are coming to get elite snipers

Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2 is coming. Rebellion announced the sequel to their WWII-themed horde-mode zombie shooter through Eurogamer. Rebellion’s Jason Kingsley described the creative process behind making the first zombie sniping shooting gallery.

“Nazi Zombie Army was a gamble, really. We didn’t know whether it would work. We hoped people would like it. We hoped people would take it in the slightly tongue in cheek way it was meant with the title. And we obviously didn’t have much money to market it.

“So we just put it out there and it’s been very very good business and we’ve created a lot of fans who just like a straightforward gory shooter against zombies. It pretty much made its money back on the day of release. That was awesome.”

Zombies. Nazis. Slo-mo bullet camera. If you haven’t had your fill of zombies yet, you can look forward to Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2 on PC later this year. Rebellion hopes to get the game on next-gen consoles as well, but must wait for publishing details from Sony and Microsoft.
