It only took 25 years for It Came From the Desert to finally get here

Cinemaware is partnering with WaterMelon Games to publish a version of It Came From the Desert for the Sega Mega Drive. The original sci-fi giant ants send-up It Came From the Desert was released in 1989 for the Amiga. Cinemaware had planned to port it to the Sega Mega Drive, but it was never completed. Thanks to the indie success of WaterMelon Games’ Pier Solar for the Mega Drive in 2010, CinemaWare is now offering this limited edition of It Came From the Desert for gamers that need a new title for their hipster old-school collections.

Packaged as a limited-edition series with hardshell case, cartridge, manual and poster, this will become a unique, rare collector’s item!

It Came From the Desert for the Mega Drive will include “new” cutscenes and additional gameplay elements. Cinemaware plans to launch the tardy port within the month.
