Doesn't that make it a freakin' bomb? Offensive team versus Defensive team? I can't believe how candy-ass politically correct the CPL is trying to be. Yeah, I'm still furious about what happend 43 days ago, but to emasculate the game and try to hide it's origins seems totally ridiculous. They are even forcing the teams into particular skins (l337 Crew and GIGN). I guess the l337 Crew skin looks less "terrorist-like" and therefore acceptable.
The CPL does realize this is a game about shooting people, right?
I agree with Tom (or is it Mark??), why don't they just play paintball? Why not change to a non-shooter if they really want to be touchy-feely about it. Patrician 2 or Fast Food Tycoon tournament sound good?
Better yet, just forget competition altogether because someone's feelings may be hurt if they lose.

Madder than hell at the politically correct of the world.

Yeah, it does seem silly. It also removes a lot of the drama in the game. Offensive vs. defensive isn't nearly as gripping as terrorists vs. anti-terrorists.

Oh, but come on, now, Mark -- how many people care?? They just want to shoot people. They don't care what you call the teams. It could be the pigs vs. the cows and people would still play. (If they had appropriate skins, that could be kinda fun!!)

Splattering someone with paint or imploding their heads with an AK-47...I can go play paintball in real life, I want to have some unrealistic fun when I play games.

I agree that the CPL is going a bit overboard with the juniorization of CS. This is a game about countering terrorism! What's next, rubber bullets and tazers?

I was going to goto a CPL event (or one of those large, sanctioned LAN things), but upon reading their rules and regulations and what they expected, blah blah blah, I figured a ten person lan at the local university would be more fun.
I'd rather go get smashed with 10-20 other gamers from UNT and make fun of dumbass frat guys than goto a CPL event and be ordered around by a bunch of wannabie soup nazi's.
