This isn't on Drudge. Incredibly creepy coincidence.

Here's a quick summary:

http://www.sfweekly.com/issues/2001-09-19/mecklin.html

'Among his varied business activities, Mr. Bath represented, as a sort of business agent, at least four prominent and wealthy Saudi Arabian citizens in their U.S. investments. According to public records, those citizens included Salem (sometimes spelled Salim) bin Laden, the favored son of the founder of a great Saudi construction empire, and one of dozens of half-brothers of a then-obscure man named Osama bin Laden.'

Sounds like you said, a coincidence. Not that unlikely, though. Osama comes from big-ass money. His family cetainly has invested all over the place. The Bush family is quite prominant. It's kinda a small world at that level. And it doesn't sound like Bush had anything even resembling direct involment with Salem Bin Laden. That's like 2 degrees of seperation.

You also have to remember that Osama was pretty much disowned by his family when he was forced to leave Saudi Arabia.

I heard last night on the news.. NPR maybe, that Osama Bin Laden has 54 siblings, all of them wealthy investors. It would be impossible to do business in the middle-east and NOT run into a Bin Laden.

The point of the story was that currently the Bin Laden name is hurting their businesses. There was a great quote from a PR guy, "We all have relatives no-one likes to talk about, I know I do."
I have a feeling none of my relatives are international terrorists, mass murderers, or the like.

Isn't there a bin Laden endowed chair at Harvard? One of the other siblings I believe.

It's just from his family, so I'm not sure why they're demanding Harvard hand it over to charity.
