I saw somewhere that C/NET was getting rid of its Gamecenter Alliance!! Does this mean QT3 is out of business? Please don't go!!!

Yeah, they're dumping all the sites. I don't know what we'll do. I want to keep it going, but we need to find some way to get some advertising. It's too much work to do it as a hobby at the level of involvement we currently have.

Stay tuned....

This just freaking sucks. You guys have become the first stop in my daily game site itinerary, and your message board is actually populated for the most part by intelligent, mature people. I sure hope you can find a way to keep it going somehow!

If not, well... It will just freaking suck.

We're checking things out. The whole gaming website scene is probably going to undergo a sea-change. UGO is reportedly asking their affliates to accept new contracts -- i.e., less money -- and IGN isn't taking on any new affliates. Gamers.com is rumored to be in trouble. Gamespy I don't know much about, but their individual sites, last I checked, were run more like fansites. They give the webmaster free hosting and maybe a little bit of cash.

You'll probably see a lot of sites become less active as revenue dries up. I just hope that the website scene doesn't just become the giant sites (Gamecenter, Gamespot, IGN, Daily Radar) and fansites. It would be nice if there were a few professional tiers between those two extremes.
