It's always great to refresh our memories with *the* classic usenet post that is Sokwoo Lee's "Fucking Big Mouse" message. But I'm affraid that you left one of the good parts out in your quote on the news page. The original post ended with a polite:

Thank you!
Sokwoo Lee

I agree, but Tom says otherwise. He has a version saved that doesn't have the thank you at the end. However, my theory is that his thank you was part of a signature file and was stripped by Dejanews when the post was archived.

It's better with the thank you, regardless. :)

You can't go around altering the words of the great S. Lee just for aesthetic purposes. The text much be preserved with respect for it's original intent!

Until I see evidence that S. Lee thanked us, you're all a bunch of heretics, loons, and crackpots.

Thing is, without the thank you, it's just an angry diatribe. With the thank you it takes on many levels of meaning. Therefore, to suggest that there was no thank you is to demean Sokwoo Lee. Surely you're not suggesting that?

I hate to be a downer Tombut I saw the message when it was fisrt posted and he wrote thank you.
The sad part is, Sokwoo Lee had a bigger clue on the direction of csipgs then than I did.

I've heard this from several people, but why doesn't anyone have a copy of this post? Where, oh where is the equivalent of the Dead Sea Scrolls for the wisdom of Sokwoo Lee?

This really is pretty funny. Next thing you know we'll have a faction arguing that Sokwoo Lee didn't really write it -- it was Sir Francis Bacon or Marlowe or....

...Warren Spector! He probably snuck the answer into Deus Ex!

It certainly explains a few things about Tom, you must admit.

Being the master of creative anagrams, I ran this
through my "great machine o' conspiracies".
Unfortunately, it croaked halfway through so all I
got was this:
d rrr k s ar tttttt ---ERROR MESSAGE: DOCTOR
DOCTOR! ---

It obviously got too much for the poor machine to
handle... I can't for the life of me figure out
what it means.
