Thanks for the heads up Dave,
Man. That is unexpected and totally premature. Heart attack that young.

I recommend the Hitchiker Audiobooks, by the way, because Adams reads them himself and he takes such pleasure in his own humor and characters... it's one of the best ways to enjoy them.

Heh... My first "acting" job was in radio. A friend arranged a reading of the audio play Hitchikers Guide at UCI and I got to play the Frogstar Tank Robot.

I met Douglas Adams at the last E3 in Atlanta. He was sitting in a chair in a booth and nobody seemed to know who he was. We chatted for a while, and he was very friendly and open.

Wow. So long, and thanks for all the fish...

Jeff

I met Douglas Adams at a book signing in New York. He also struck me as very open and friendly. He liked to describe himself as the world's tallest author of humorous science fiction.

I bought my first computer, a C-64, specifically so I could play Infocom's Hitchhiker's game. Man, now I'm about as depressed as Marvin.

And I have been replaying the original TV series on video over the last week - what a coincidence.

RIP Douglas Adams.
