Does anyone around here know about this series,
written by Katharine Kerr, beginning with
Daggerspell? It's a series I'm always trying to
draw some attention to, since it doesn't get much
at all compared to Jordan and Martin.
It's the kind of fantasy that is epic.. yet isn't.
No real hero, no magic that could destroy the
world, no great evil behind it all. Just very human.
It's very interesting since it's based on the
concept of an immigration by a gaulic tribe
following the failed rebellion of Julius Vindex
against the romans in our world.
Go read it or something =)

I read a Kerr book a long time ago, one of the Deryni novels. It was ok, but it didn't really make me yearn for more. This sounds interesting, though. Maybe I'll make a trip to the bookstore this weekend.

Actually I think it's Katharine Kurtz who writes
the Deryni novels. That they are also based on a
celtic culture in some ways complicates matters
even more =)

Ack -- you're right. It has been a long time since I read that Deryni book.
