I want to start up a PBEM strategy game with a neighbor, but he only has a pentium 120. Obviously not a hard-core PC gamer. He's a long-time fan of Axis and Allies though, so I'm betting he'll like turn-based strat games on the PC.

So far, the only one I can think of that will work well on a 120 is Warlords III.
Any other suggestions?

How about one of the Panzer General games?

Wrong genre, I know but:
Stars!
Space Empires 4 (maybe)

Yea I would suggest Panzer General II. Older but still a great game and would run well on that machine. I'd think even Alpha Centauri would do ok, if he has a descent amount of ram.

No, genre doesn't matter. It just has to be turn-based strategy that'll run on a P120.
The requirements for SMAC state P 133 min.
And he only has 128 ram. SMAC might be a little frustrating for him, speed-wise.

Oh, and I didn't know Panzer general II had PBEM!
THanks!
I'm sure it's really cheap by now, too, so I can buy him a copy.

If Panzer General is too "light," Steel Panthers: World at War or one of the original Steel Panthers games are excellent options. I used to play the SP games by e-mail a lot when I was using a Pentium 100.

SP: WaW is free, but an enormous download: http://www.matrixgames.com/Games/WorldAtWar/

I think the requirements on a TB game could be stretched some since its well TB. The being under the requirements isn't as harsh as with a RTS or FPS game where it would be very noticable.
