Check out the last link under "acting" (1998). VOICE OF ANNAH IN PLANESCAPE TORMENT. Did anyone know this?
By Dave Long on Saturday, September 29, 2001 - 12:33 am:
Yes.
Check out all of Interplay's games for the last five years or so. They've used name actors as voice talent since before Fallout.
As an aside, I was recently watching a cartoon (can't remember what) and this voice kept nagging me. "Who is that guy?", I kept saying to my wife. A day later it hit me.
Taurus from Interstate '76.

She was really good, too. That's still my BESTEST GAME EVAR.

Yeah, I've got quite a list of "secret" voice actors like that one. Tim Curry's been busy. So has the guy who plays Pinky in Pinky and the Brain... and of course, David "Sark" Warner is all but ubiquitous.
No luck selling it as a feature though.

Tim Curry and Mark Hamill both do an assload of voice over work in Cartoons.
Anyone ever watch Disney's Gargoyles? Like 90% of the voices were done by people from Star Trek TNG, DS9 and Voyager.
By Bub (Bub) on Sunday, September 30, 2001 - 07:17 pm:
Yeah Brad, that's a common practice. Think about it. The Star Trek casts all have roughly the same shooting schedule and downtime. It's really easy to stack your cast with name actors conveniently that way.
Mark Hamil is a fantastic Joker.

That would be a great story I think. Has Tim Curry done many games voices? It would be interesting to know who does all the other voices too.

Tim Curry was Stratos in Sacrifice, and Gabriel Knight in the first installment, I think.

I still like Sheena Easton; didn't know she was in Gargoyles though, a lot of folks had a hand in it. The new Heavy Gear series features a few somewhat-well known names as well.

New Heavy Gear series? I hope and pray you aren't talking about a new PC game. I'm still bitter about my copies of Heavy Gear 1 and 2. Utter dreck.

And in a thread about voice acting...
"I'm still bitter about my copies of Heavy Gear 1 and 2."
... the troll steps forward.

By Johan Freeberg on Monday, October 1, 2001 - 10:59 pm:
Why are you saying a troll Andrew? Is this a different special saying? I do not know if the games he said about had trools, but maybe you read about the animals called moomins that look like trolls? They are not, but many people are mistaking it! The moomins were invented by Tove Jansson who sounds Swedish but grew up in Finland! The moomins are famous in everywhere but America, maybe if you make a computer game about them you will love them too?

Johan (Greetz),
I love dealing with people from other countries and cultures (and languages) precisely because of your post above.
"troll" as I used it, is a term meaning "somebody who posts offhand comments JUST to get a reaction". Like saying anything bad about Heavy Gear 2 on a board where there's lots of Heavy Gear 2 fans. But doing it in a thread with little reason to post anything about Heavy Gear 2 and how you think of it.
Perhaps "Troll" is used in this way to refer to the scandinavian under the bridge critter from the Billy Goats Gruff story, but more likely it refers to the fishing terms where you put bait on a hook and let your line move with the boat. "Trolling" for any unlucky fish to take the bait.
I've never heard of Moomins but I like them already.

If it is Chet, his knowledge of obscure Finn noir writers is remarkable (from a previous thread). And his credibility unimpeachable.

This is almost as freaky as the thread about the Japanese serial rapist. And watch it with the dashes-- you'll attract Chet. Doh!

(In best Homer Simpson voice)
Mmmmm, Sheena Easton.
She was in a Vegas show last year, but since it also starred David "Bitter boy" Cassidy, I swung clear of it.
