I just tried to go to fuckedcompany.com:
"The site you have attempted to reach is considered to be inappropriate
for access using Motorola computer resources."
My ass!
So I say, "Gee, let me email Mark, he'll get a kick out of this!"

What does that mean? Is it my ISP blocking it? Goddamn my ISP. I hate them. I may see about switching my DSL service. Only thing is I got my DSL modem for free from my DSL provider. They'd probably want it back.

Well, you can always go through a proxy, public or otherwise. That routes all your web traffic through a third computer (the proxy machine) so unless the PROXY is blacklisted, you can surf www.sexualchocolate.com all day long. Or q23.

This means that the SMTP server Roger used to send the email is on the ORBS spam remailer list, which your ISP is using, as they should.

Shit, if my ISP is trying to block all ISPs that allow spam to go through, I wonder how many emails to me are getting blocked now?
As an aside, when I use Hotmail I block each spam address when I delete it. Sears sent me spam and I blocked it, but apparently Sears is paying Microsoft for the right to spam Hotmail accounts. My block was ignored and I've gotten a couple of other spams from Sears since. Kind of irritating.

Check out the ORBS faq here: http://www.rahul.net/dhesi/orbs.faq.txt
I wouldn't worry about it. Anyone who really wants to contact won't be offput by a bounce, and it really cuts down on spam.
All of the free web mail places have horrible filters; on yahoo you can't configure it to block domains. Pah.

Well, my "private" email address/service gets blocked trying to email Mark. My problem with ORBS is that they don't block because Spam is being sent in large amounts from a service, only because it fails their test and COULD be a spam server.
By Mark Asher on Saturday, September 8, 2001 - 12:28 pm:
Well, I have been receiveing a lot less spam lately, so I guess the ORBS thing is working in that regard.
Jeff, just try my other address:
[email protected]
It goes through the website host.
