I hate to make another thread for misterdj to fuck with, but this requires its own link. Compuexpert has a fantastic deal of epic proportions in their latest 48 hour madness. For $19.90 you can get Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment AND Fallout 2. All three of these are easily worth $19.90 each, let alone $19.90 for all three...

If you don't have them and have any interest in three of the best RPGs of the last 3 years, order now.

Direct link to the Triple Pack

P.S. - Maybe we can just use this one thread for future deals?

Must. Have. Game. Warlords: Battlecry for just $10.

I don't know if anyone took advantage of the last post, but once again, CE has the goods.

RE: Warlords Battlecry:

"Must. Have. Game."

I concur. It's a shame this one was so widely overlooked. But then again, I've always thought SSG should have been more commercially successful than they are.

Just out of curiousity, why is Battlecry a must have game? I really enjoyed Warlords III which is the best fantasy turn-based of its sort I've played (never have gotten Master of Magic to work on my machine). I have a terribly unfair knee-jerk mistrust of RTS games though as even the best ones tend to play out in very similiar and predictable ways.

Edumacate me please. :)

Let's just let Tom do that with previously written words...

Most Surprising Game of 2000

The thing about Battlecry that makes it so good is that everything comes together so well. SSG combined the Hero concept similar to the commander, powerful keyboard shortcuts and slick control of Total Annihilation with the well balanced disparate races of Starcraft and research decision tree of Age of Kings. Then they wrapped all that together with the RPG-feel of the Warlords series where your troops carry over from battle to battle as your hero grows in power.

In my opinion, it's not only the most surprising, it's also the most overlooked game of 2000. I would not be surprised to see some of the ideas in Battlecry surface in Age of Mythology. I hope so anyway... Battlecry does so many things to make you care about each multiplayer game and even about the campaign. If SSG had the budget of the big boys, they'd probably be as commercially successful as Tom hopes. It's always hurt them in recent years that SSI (their publisher) is an afterthought to whatever company they've been sold to.
