Well, as I have no idea what to fill up my time with lately, I might as well waste my life away with Everquest again. Could someone recommend the class with the least amount of downtime, if they're maybe half-and-half soloing/grouping?
Additionally, what server is everyone on?

Probably a rogue they are or were powerhouses. In a group you dont really get hit you sort of take a nukers role And solo there backstab can get alot of mobs early on to near death. But that could be out of date if verant "fixed" the class. I considered EQ again but I'll hold out till DAOC, looks to be on shelves before years end.

Druid or Necro is the probably the best soloing classes and their spells reduce the amount of downtime. Rangers are also good at soloing but their downtime is greater until you hit level 22.
If you play a druid, I'd recommend starting a Halfling, the zone they start off in is one of the better ones for low-level characters and you can get experience in relative safety. I only died once getting to level 8 and that was because I got careless.
I play on Morell-Thule, most of the people there are helpful and friendly.

I dunno -- I'm a bit weary of the MMOG scene and EQ in general. The game just takes too long to advance in.
