So, I was looking around MS's Xbox stuff when I stumbled on this. Ok, developers smashing up old development kits is kind of wierd, but it's nothing compared to this. 'You're a hardcore gamer, so we figured you wanted a hardcore experience for those few times when you aren't in a game.' Note that he's talking about the SAVE GAME MANAGEMENT screen. Jesus.

Whoever Jeff Henshaw is, I hope for his sake marketing just wrote up all this stuff and slapped his name on it. From "Volume Three":

'I had to laugh to myself, because the wave of excitement that will hit stores this fall is going to be unstoppable. Xbox promotions will be of a scale you never expected, but the deciding factor when you walk into a store will be which TV you walk up to when you see the games. As you'll see beginning with E3, there is simply nothing that compares to an Xbox game.'

You were expecting, maybe, reserved optimism on the official Xbox site? =)

The oohing, aahing, chest-beating, and crowing about every little retarded mundane feature has only just BARELY begun. In 30-60 days, it's going to start in earnest, and it's going to be sickening.

Oh, you're right, but I think calling a save game interface "hardcore" takes PR wankery to an entirely new level. "Dude! I'm going to save games ALL DAY on that thing! Screw playing the games!"
