Any opinions on the file-sharing program Morpheus? It seems to be a lot like Napster, but decentralized. My main complaint is that it seems to have changed some of my security settings in IE5 (although I have no tangible proof that it was Morpheus).

I've tried Morpheus, and I like it. At least, I like all the stuff you can search for (even apps--it's probably a warez heaven already). And I like that the list is decentralized, so they can't be shut down via the same method Napster and Scour.net was. But unlike Gnutella, you can actually DOWNLOAD something once you find it. =)
I'm not a big fan of the interface, but that's true of all these file sharing utilities.
I read somewhere recently that Morpheus has a whole MESS of users. Millions of 'em - about what Napster had in its heyday. I have a hard time believing that, but it does seem to be very popular.

Is it gnutella based, like bearShare and IMesh?

No, it's a completely stand-alone deal. Gnutella-based programs suck, because once you find something it's a herculean effort to actually successfully download it.
