I love this website guys. It really appeals to the mature game player. I also like your realistic no holds barred opinions. It's good to see two industry veterans working together.
Well done !

Thanks Sean! Good to see a familar Usenet name here. Tom and I are enjoying it, and with writers like Scharmers, Brad, and (we hope) a few others chipping in, we think we can provide some interesting writing.
There's about 50,000 gaming sites out there, so just about every angle is covered -- news, patches, mods, MMORPGs, CD cracks, you name it. So about all that's left is for us to just try to be interesting. That's all we ever wanted to do anyway. We're lucky we're not trying to be an EverQuest site in some ways. The last thing I want to do is post a news item about Dathenial and Klugar getting married on the Povar server. Yuck!

Dathenial and Klugar got married? Finally...!
(Thanks for the kind words, Sean. I'm glad to see you here.)

I knew once Mark told me he was working on this project, that it would be a great one. I've allways enjoyed both Tom:s and Mark:s writings and intelligent comments.
These message boards are also great btw, much easier to follow than the UBB variant. It might be what I needed to drop Usenet altogether :).

I'm a big fan of Usenet, but for whatever reason it seems to have lost some steam from a couple of years ago. I remember when Strategic used to get 500 posts a day on a normal day. Now it seems like about 150.

To be honest I think the whole Internet has lost some steam. At least for me.

Tom Chick and Mark Asher could be the future Siskel and Ebert for video games. They could be really famous! I mean they already are, but I mean famouser than even that guy who made Alice... that American Mcgee guy.
etc
By Michael Murphy (Murph) on Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 02:26 am:
Well, I, for one, spend more time here than...well, basically anywhere else. This site's fantastic! But they both already know I think that...I think.
And, yes, Mark and Tom are definitely (among, if not absolutely) the best at what they do.

Between Tom and Mark who is fat and who is bald? I mean, if they were to be the next Siskel and Ebert that is... wouldn't they have to look like em?
By Gordon Berg on Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 01:28 pm:
Oh, Tom Chick is definitely losing his hair, but he won't be of Siskel status for years to come...
By XtienMurawski on Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 02:16 pm:
This has taken a weird turn.

But which one of us is alive and which one is dead? That's the defining status of Siskel and Ebert now.
I post therefore I am.
By kazz on Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 07:16 pm:
Mrk and Tim as Siskel and Ebert. Hmm. Is there any other tag-teaming review site out there? Now that I think about it, reviewing usually looks like a very individual thing, with not a lot of collaborative effort. Is that correct?
By kazz on Thursday, August 23, 2001 - 07:18 pm:
Sigh. That should be "Mark and Tom."
Sorry, guys...

Let's just say Mark has a full head of hair and I'm in fairly good shape. I think we can leave it at that...
