I have a box full of most of the Lynx games that were released. There are still some places online selling and trading them.

I'd say my favorites were probably:
* Electrocop (a launch title and closest thing to an FPS)
* Blue Thunder (a ground attack fighter game that came out at launch)
* Robotron (a fine arcade translation)
* Super Missile Command/Super Asteroids (the Asteroids was lame but the enhanced Missile Command with powerups was great)
* Joust (a pixel perfect arcade translation)
* Jimmy Connors Tennis (along with Klax, about the only Lynx games with clearly intelligible, digitized voices)
* Battlewheels (a driving, first person combat game, though I only had one local buddy with Comlynx, and multi was its best mode)

My biggest disappointments were probably:
* Batman (terrible, frustrating side scroller that was unfortunately used as a pack-in when Atari made its last ditch attempt at marketing it)
* Rygar (argh!)
* Checkered Flag (twitchy controls, next to impossible)
* Battlezone 2000 (I had such high hopes but it just didn't work)

I'd still like to track down Klax. I have Warbirds, but I felt the Lynx gamepad just didn't have enough "throw" to accurately steer.

One developer was working on a Wolftenstein 3-D Lynx game (even had Id's permission) but apparently shelved it in favor of trying to do it for the Jaguar.

I've always wanted to get a Nomad. There are a lot of cool Genesis games that would be fun to play on a handheld. The problem with the Nomad is that it eats batteries -- they only last a couple of hours from what I've heard.

Still, Battletech, Herzog Zwei, Golden Axe, etc., would be fun to play.

I certainly remember Electrocop, Klax, and Warbirds. I even remember multiplayer Warbirds! I did my first "network" gaming on a Lynx, hooking it up to my friend's Lynx with a cable.

Anyone remember the deathmatch stuff in Todd's Adventures in Slimeworld? I seem to recall using bombs to try to kill the other player.

I also recall co-op multiplayer with some Aliens type game. It was called Xenomorph or something. There are aliens hatching through various life cycle stages and you're trying to get to the queen who's hatching them all. We would go in teams, charging into rooms and clearing them out.

Man, that brings back memories. I was in graduate school in Boston, so this must have been over ten years ago! Jeez.

Xenomorph was a coin-op too. I used to play that while recovering from a beating in Street Fighter 2 in the Student Union at SFSU. Ah, 1991, where have you gone?

My Atari Lynx was one of my favorite. The second best thing Atari ever made. :)

We used to be big into Xenophobe in college, too. What we liked about it was that it rewarded team tactics. You could only get so far in the game blazing in like Rambo, but if you worked together, tossing grenades before a team rush, standing shoulder-to-shoulder against charging aliens, you could make it quite far.

We would take groups of people from the dorm down to the minature golf course in town (Castle Park in Riverside). They had a great arcade. A few of us were frighteningly good at Bank Panic, and it became very competitive. Scores routinely broke 250,000, and we could intentionally hit the quickdraw timer at 0:00 for the biggest bonus. This was also the site of our big Turkey Shoot competitions.

My only beef with my Lynx screen is the screen is kinda hard to see with lights on, and kinda hard to see with lights off. :) Still a problem with color Palms and Pocket PCs 10 years later. *sigh*

I never did solve Electrocop (I got right up the final level, and there was some password I needed I couldn't figure out. Argh), and I lost the manual, and it's darn near impossible to figure out what you're doing without a primer of some sort.

I got a Jaguar mainly for Defender 2000, and I prayed mightily a Lynx version would come out, since the ports of other Williams arcade games (Robotron and Joust) were so terrific but ... nah. Wah. :)

Ahhh the Atari Jaguar. I painful system to own. We knew it could produce good games. But release after release was painful to bear. I have virtually every title except the "mythical" Battlesphere and a few of the telegame releases.

Battlesphere did come out, but you had to mail order it from the developer. I think I read you still can, though the link escapes me for now. The developer was having trouble finding the necessary cartridge shells and parts to keep selling it.

Songbird Productions continues to put out new Lynx and occasionally Jaguar games out but they aren't (from the few reviews I can find at Atari fan sites) very polished or very good for the most part.

I think I got my Jaguar when I was really depressed over a woman (always a dangerous reason for buying anything! :)) back in early '96. I could've and should've gotten a PlayStation but I remembered thinking "Geez, it's so expensive, and who's gonna be playing it in 5 years?" Doh!

But getting back on topic, there a lot of Lynx fan pages out there. A good place to start is Carl Forhan's Lynx Domain site. Though no longer updated, it's a good "portal" of sorts.

I paid $250 for the Jaguar the week of release. To this day I regret getting rid of it for one reason... Tempest 2000. None of the versions on any other system did it justice. The Jag version is far and away the best. If I ever go to buy another DVD player, I think I just may get a Nuon-style one just to play Tempest 3000. Oh the hours I wasted with Tempest 2K...

There were a few other bright spots on the Jag. Cybermorph was fun at the time and Aliens Vs. Predator was fantastic IMO. It was hard as nails just like the PC game too. Iron Soldier also had its moments and Wolf 3D was great when it didn't make me sick.

I remember meeting Sam Tramiel at the EB Manager's Meeting when DOOM was soon to be released. Talk about family operations. He was the only guy there representing an entire console and its games. He also was one of the least knowledgeable people in the games industry I think I've ever met. I wasn't surprised watching the Jag and Atari disappear forever after that.

I've considered picking up a used Jag at least 10 times since just for that one game. Though rebuying a system wouldn't sit well with my wife. I've owned two Neo Geo cart systems at different times and regret selling both of those along with my original 1995 release day Playstation. (Though I rebought that system too and still have it...)

I'm another fool who paid $200 for the Jag. There WERE good games for it. Aliens Vs Preditor Tempest 2000, Defender 2000, Rayman, Flipout, Battlemorph, Wolf 3d, Doom, and 1 or 2 others. However for the most part the games sucked really bad. I knew Battlemorph came out but they refused to sell to a lot of people. Part because they couldn't make many, part because they wanted to make sure than anyone who ever said ill of them and their policy of flaming people on public boards never got a copy. 4play is the Derek Smart of the Atari community. Ofcourse they hated me... :) I have three Atari Jaguars (picked up another two when KB had them for $10) and a network box. Jaguar Doom was kinda cool networked.
