Shameless plug. On my page we have an interview with the lead programer and designer of Xcom Enforcer. Feel free to go read it and come back and flame me. =)

That was a pretty cool interview. I missed out on the whole X-Com thing, but Enforcer sounds like fun.

Nice interview. Some of the screens look nice. I like seeing Sectiods, etc., in a 3D game. I'm not happy that this is the X-COM game that Hasbro Interactive has seen fit to see through, however.

My heart bleeds for Dreamland: Area 51. That game could have been the messiah to resurrect Xcom.

I'm guardedly optimistic that Infogrames will handle the Microprose licenses a little better than Hasbro did and give us an updated X-COM. I was just talking today on the phone with a developer about this, and he summed it up: "They couldn't handle them any worse than Hasbro did."

I thought the last rumor was Microsoft picked this project up.

Shit, put it on the X-Box at least, don't let it die! Especially if they were going to do a PS2 port. An X-Box port should be a no-brainer for these guys compared to the contortions required for a PS2 translation.

And as much money as MS is throwing around, they should know better than to let this one go.

Miicrosoft did not pick it up. The rumor was denied by Mythos

I think there's a lot about the development of Dreamland Chornicles that we don't know. If the game was so good and so far along, it would have been picked up. I think it was both way behind and not turning out like they expected.

Anyone else find it ironic that Mythos gave up the development of a sequel to their only project in the last few years to another company and now that game (Art of Magic) will likely be out and be the full 3D game they couldn't produce? It looks pretty good too... if they keep similar gameplay to Magic and Mayhem, I'm there.

Quickly on topic here... this X-Com game is a really bad joke. I keep expecting them to yell APRIL FOOLS on Sunday and say the screenshots were faked.

This game does have barely anything to do with X-Com but it seems like it could be fun. Co-op action is always fun. Serious Sam is great in co-op, there are so many enemies coming from so many directions that having two people to go back to back in the middle of combat can be really useful. I will check out a demo and read the reviews for this one.

Fact : The X-Com Alliance team has Alliance 65% done when they SUDDENLY lost a key guy. This was a serious setback , so the suits at Hasbro put Alliance on hold and told them to make a UT styled game in the X-Com Universe. They also decided to release it in the US only. Go figure.

Still, it looks like it should be fun, and it's not really intended to be a milestone in the X-Com Universe, just a brief sidestep so to speak.

I pray to god Infogrames will let them complete Alliance after Enforcer is done.

Oh look - a site all about X-Com Alliance;

Pretty funky site, no wait - I own it so I`m biased =)
