If the GBA release in Japan is any indication, we can expect to see it release here for about $80. That's a little better than most of us expected, I think. It seems to have a good lineup of games, too. I even more excited than I was...

I'm going to buy two of the GBAs for my twin boys. They have a birthday in July. I'm looking forward to Ogre Tactics, Breath of Fire, Super Mario 2, and Doom. I'd also like to see 3DO do a new version of HOMM for GBA, but they probably won't.

I have a GameBoy Color and absolutely love it. Great for boring international flights, etc.
I will probably get a GameBoy Advance. For less than AUD$150 its a steal.

I have a Gameboy color that I still have yet to crack open. My mommy bought it for me for Christmas. I'm 28 and have much more disposable income than her, so it was pretty bizzare to get one as a present. I don't travel much, so is it worth opening or should I re-gift it?

I played my old GameBoy -- before they were in color -- a lot. I've never been much for travel, and I felt it was worth the money. I'll probably buy a GBA.
On the other hand, you may be better off re-gifting the game boy color and picking up a GBA. (Or, for that matter, having one of both. Does anybody know whether or not the GBA will play old GB games? I'm not sure, right off the top of my head.) The point is, Han, that a GameBoy is worth having around. You'll play it -- I promise.

GBA will play GBC games at least -- I don't know about the old black and white games.
Chances are most of the games you'll want to play will be the new GBA ones. There's even a Mario Kart GBA game that looks kind of cool.
Nintendo's Gamecube is going to use some kind of mini-disk. Makes you wonder if there won't be a handheld Gamecube in a few years.

A Gameboy Color will play MOST of the old black and white games. (I've played most of my Gameboy games from the early days on my mother-in-laws GBC, and most of them even have some form of color, though you can tell a difference between the ones that were meant for the GBC and those that weren't.) I would expect this to translate to the GBA playing 99% of the old games as well, and some of them could be worth carrying over.

I have just read that Doom will be ported to the GBA (thanks Mark!). I am definitely getting one now !!! :-)
(Sean who is 34 years old and loves his GBC).
I wonder if GBA Doom will re-use all the classic Doom music - that would be fantastic !!

Yeah, Doom for the GBA just sounds really cool.
I wonder if it will have Romero's head in there as an easter egg. :)
I just wish it was coming out before May when I have to fly to LA for E3. I'd love to have it on the plane.
