I doubt they will sell that many at that price. That's just to soak the hardcore FPS fans. We'll probably see a reduction in a few months.
It is a ridiculous price and plays right into the hands of the consoles.

550 fifty bucks. . . for a video card. . . that's more than 2x the cost of 2 athlon 1ghz processors.
and the funny thing is the games, imo, wont look that much better. . . or play that much better. . .and at the same time taking probably 2x more development time than with the Quake 3 engine (with the doom 3 engine that is).
oh well, nvidia really has no competition in the hardcore/gaming video card market . i hope another company can step up to take over (or at least compete) w/ nvidia. we could see better price competitions prolly. i dont see it happening though in the near future. . . were stuck with nvidia.

Eye candy doesn't = dick power. Cars yes. A fast cool car is more likely to get you laid making up for the lack of penis dimensions. However no videocard is going to get you anywhere with anyone.

Well, apart from wumus's penis becoming larger, the geforce 3 sounds like it should kick ass and take names.
Then again, this coming from the guy who got a tnt 2 not one month ago :)
As mark said, they'll soak the hardcore people then bring out the cheapass ones/middle range ones soon.
