I just saw the preview for next week's episode.

It showed a crime scene with one of the officers talking about somebody being killed with a sword.

It then goes on to show kids playing a video game that has people fighting with swords. The dialog clips include phrases like "Could a video game lead somebody to kill?". It also shows a teenage video gamer looking all freaky and ready to kill.

However right at the end of the preview, there is an older woman shouting something, and it made it seem that they are going to twist the story somehow.

I'm interested to see what they do with this story. The episode will be on NBC next Friday (Nov 23).

I love Law and Order-- that Dick Wolf sure does make some fine entertainment-- but the SVU show really sucks, IMO. The actors are awful.

You can probably file this one right alongside that ridiculous X-Files virtual reality episode with the Thresh-a-like standin.

The only thing that bugs me about SVU is the fact that they use so many actors from OZ on HBO.

It's hard to see Chris Meloni as a cop after seeing him take a leak in solitary confinement.

They already did a "do videogames make people kill" episode of the original Law and Order. They tease the show, "can a videogame drive a kid to kill?" Andswer to myself, no. Guess I don't need to tune in next week. I like Richard Belzer and Ice-T. Belzer was better used in Homicide, though.

Yeah but it's cool that Belzer is playing the same character as on Homicide. That made for a neat crossover. They should get Andre Braugher to put in a cameo. I loved Homicide.

games of that ilk are so freakin' big, no real
human could ever lift them, much less kill
anyone with them.

I love "Law and Order" too but have never caught on to SVU. However, the new spin off, "Criminal Intent" is really pretty good. I've seen a couple of them and was impressed (it's sort of the "Law and Order" version of CSI). Vincent D'Onofrio is the lead and is really amazing. He's such a good actor, so in a way it's no surprise, I'm just glad they're using him in a way that showcases his talents.

I'm getting tired of the marketing for the L&O shows though. It seems like every week every single fucking show is promoted with the tag line, "...and you won't believe the twist at the end." I mean seriously. It's been a good while now since "The Sixth Sense" and I was kinda hoping that "The Others" would serve as a bookend for the trend to have and/or market a twist at the end of every single bit of dramatic entertainment. Memo to Dick Wolf: "We've all moved on, you can too. We'll watch the show, enough with the twists already."

I've not seen Criminal Intent. I watch Alias that runs opposite it on ABC. That is a spiffy show.

I like Criminal Intent too, mostly because of what Amanpour said: D'Onofrio rocks. I've always enjoyed him since FMJ (even in The Cell, which I hated), and especially in that episode of Homicide (the train one).

Yes, Homicide indeed rocked. One time, my girlfriend and I were flipping channels and we saw Andre Braugher on some other show. Then we spent the next hour reminiscing about how cool Homicide was. Man alive, that was geeky when I think about it.

So is Kyle Secor supposed to commit suicide or otherwise die because of the events that take place in the last few minutes of the Homicide movie? The idea that "we'll soon be joined by another" at the end seems rather foreboding to me. Kind of a depressing movie, come to think of it.
