I thought George "Big Boy" Broussard said that DNF would be out at roughly the same time as Return to Wolfenstein? Or, as Mark Asher nostalgically refers to it, Wolfenstein 3D?
So what the hell is happening? I know, when it's done, yadda yadda yadda, but what the hell man. It's been years.
Always bet on Duke. For term life insurance.

The DNF dev team has been going through a lot of upheavals over the last 12 months. About six months ago they were desperate to hire 3D programmers. I don't know what has happened recently.

The latest excuse for the delay was that they had to make some changes to remove references to the World Trade Center.

I'm sure they can find a way to drag the development out 6 more months with that excuse.

In an unexpected move by 3drealms, the Duke Nukem series has taken a large twist. The newest incarnation of the game, which was to be titled Duke Nukem Forever, has since been re-worked in the past months after the grave, terrorist attacks on New York.
All aspects that could relate to New York and the hijacking of the planes into the towers has been removed, as has any reference to the Pentagon or the US government.
In a further attempt to distance ourselves from the realm of those who could possibly offend and damage the victims of these attacks we have also removed the following:
- buildings larger than ~64 stories
- planes
- box cutters
- beards and turbans
- guns, which have been replaced with non-lethal
tazers
- people with a skin color darker than that of your average programmer
- people who speak with an Arabic accent
- fun
- clubs
- strippers
- bright lights that could be confused with an explosion
- lightning, see above
- thunder, see above
- anything resembling Duke Nukem's past incarnations
- and last but not least, Duke himself
The game has been renamed Fluffy Bunny Sim and will be released on Feb. 14th to show our love for the world.
We hope players will enjoy our product and will not be offended by any aspect we have chosen to leave in the game (i.e.: the colors pink and the word love, which was before the colors red and the word hardcore sex).
Thank you,
- 3drealms

They're waiting for a new Evil Dead movie so that they can rip-off more one-liners. Hail to the king, baby.
